What is a Casual Golfer on the Scottish Golf App?
Golfers have the ability to sign up to the Scottish Golf App as a Casual Golfer.
There is an important distinction to be made here, a Casual Golfer is not a member of Scottish Golf Open Play and as such, is not entitled to a WHS Handicap Index.
By signing up as a Casual Golfer, the system will allow the player to track their progress by calculating a scoring average based on the rounds returned. However, at no point will the system allocate a Handicap Index.
In order to hold an official WHS Index, the player would need to join an Affiliated Golf Club or Scottish Golf's Open Play Subscription.
Please note, only scores returned whilst a member of a golf club or Open Play can be used to generate a Handicap Index.
