My club website is down/won't load
If you are experiencing issues with your club website and it won't load or is producing an error message instead of showing your Home Page then there are likely to be either of these 2 changes that have been made:
1. DNS Settings
If you have recently made changes to your DNS settings you will want to check that your Domain name (URL) is still pointing to the correct IP Address. For example,
www.golfclub.com should be pointed to 63.34.172.188.
The below image shows the correct IP Address being returned:
If a different IP Address is showing up then you will need to log into your DNS settings with your Domain Provider and make the necessary changes.
If your Domain Name is pointing at the correct IP Address but still won't load then it may be that your club system doesn't have a Generic Contact set or it's recently been removed. All platforms need to have a Generic Contact for certain functionality to work and Websites are one of those because it accepts external enquiries.
To check this log into your DotGolf Platform and got to Settings > Contacts.
Here you can choose one of your contacts to assign the Generic Contact role:
If you have checked both of these items and still are experiencing an error message then please don't hesitate to contact us at
vms@scottishgolf.org.
