You may need Matchplay to be enabled in your platform. If you can not see the Matchplay tab within your Events section then please contact vms@scottishgolf.org who can enable this.
To create a new competition, click on the blue New Competition button. You can then set up your competition by inputting the appropriate name, start date, format and field size:
Registration Options
Here you can determine the entry start and end date as well as entry fee for the competition:
Players
This is where players who enter the competition will appear, or you can import from a CSV or results from a previous competition. Players will be able to enter via the My Scottish Golf app as well as your club website. If entering this way you will be able to accept entries manually and in the order you wish for them to be seeded.
Alternatively, you can also import players from a CSV file and also from a result list from a previous competition or qualifier.
Schedule
Here you will see the competition schedule. Initially this will be in a preview mode to show you the draw and seeding you have created. To confirm this, you must click on the Generate Schedules button:
Once you have done this you will see that dates have been populated for the rounds. You can click on these to edit them to the play by dates that you require for the competition. You can also click on individual matches to add dates and times to these. They will display on the draw, which may be beneficial in advertising the day/time of the final.
Result Entry
Scoring for this format is back office only and will need to be indicate who progresses to the next round.
This then displays on the schedule for the competition.
The draw for your Matchplay event will display on your integrated club website. To find this you will need to go the Golf tab in your website and to Fixtures. This will bring up your competition calendar. If you hover over the event in your calendar, then you will be given the option to view the Matchplay Bracket:
If you don’t have a club website with DotGolf?
If you have your own website or no website at all then you can still share the draw with your members via a URL. Here are the steps to show your Matchplay Draw on the Scottish Golf Website:
Firstly when you are creating your match play competition you will need to take note of the certain part of the URL on that page – the 4 or 5 digits towards the end of the URL (highlighted below):
You will then need the below URL and replace XXXXX with the digits found in the URL on your competition.
https://www.scottishgolf.org/matchplay-competition?competitionId=XXXXX
You can then share this with players to view the draw and keep track of the competition.
