To start editing your website, please log in via your DotGolf platform:
This will then log you in as the website administrator and you should now have additional controls in the top right of your screen.
You will now be able to edit content within each webpage via the Edit Page button. Here are some key things to remember when editing the webpage:
· Content will need to be generated to each webpage.
· Some pages have specific plug-in’s built into them so can not be edited.
· Adding/removing pages can be done in the back office but must be done with care. Once a page is deleted you won’t be able to recover it.
· Please get in touch with the VMS team to change over your domain name.
· This is now your website, any changes/edits are your responsibility so please be careful when deleting elements as it may not be possible to recreate them.
Please contact vms@scottishgolf.org with any questions or to arrange training sessions on managing and maintaining websites.
Clicking on the Edit Page button will highlight all customisable elements within your webpage. You will be prompted with controls of each editable element, allowing you to change imagery and content.
In the back office you can create webpages that are only available to members via the log in page. You can also create orphan pages which are singular webpages that aren’t findable so you can control specifically who see them.
Content editors will allow you to format your text as you wish. You can also load earlier versions of your text if needed
You can manage your course status via the back office of the DotGolf VMS platform. Go to Clubhouse and you should see the below course status box. Click on Update, type in the new course status and save. This will then automatically update your webpage.
In the back office of your DotGolf VMS system you’ll be able to manage your pages, subheadings and create new pages. It is important to note that if you are removing pages you may be removing pages with specific plug in’s that can’t be recreated (i.e. tee booking, fixture calendar etc). Currently you can only create standard page templates and do not have access to these plug in’s.
Within the Maintain Pages you will be able see the breakdown of your website navigation along with any orphan pages you have created. You can click on each page to see additional options to rename the page, change who can view the page and even delete the page.
Orphan pages are independent webpages that you can create which are not linked to any navigation within your website so unfindable unless for a specific reason. You may create them specifically for a select group of players or only attach it to your navigation at certain points of the year.
