Instructions for switching your Domain name to your DotGolf Website
Instructions for switching your Domain name to your DotGolf Website
These instructions may differ slightly depending on your provider, but it can be broken down into 2 Steps. You’ll need to be able to log into your DNS provider and make the below changes.
Step 1
Firstly we need to point your domain name (www.golfclub.co.uk & golfclub.co.uk) to the below IP address;
Change the @ (apex) of the domain to point to the IP address:63.34.172.188
Then you need to change the details of your CName record:
You will need to change the CName record to point to:rp-sctprod-w-1.dotgolf.co.uk
Please note:
You will need to test both (www.golfclub.co.uk & golfclub.co.uk) to make sure both are pointing to 63.34.172.188. You can do this through www.dnschecker.org.
If only one is returning the above IP then it’s likely you will need to create another A record that includes the www. and points to 63.34.172.188.
Step 2
The second part of this process is to do with subscriptions and mailing. You will also need to modify the TXT/SPF record. This is what an example modified record looks like:
include:_spf.golf.co.nz is the part that allows DotGolf's mail servers to send emails on your behalf. Note that the rest of the record may be completely different depending on your email provider and/or DNS host. If your SPF record ends with -all or ?all we may still be able to send email even if the include is missing, although warnings may be reported or the email may get marked as spam
Note: For your domain switch to go live, DotGolf will need to action authorisation on their side so please let us know when you have made these changes. We aim to have to switch completed within 24 hours.
