As a golfer, what do I do when I am unable to complete my round?

Any golfer who is unable to complete their round or successfully post their score back to the CDH, should approach their golf club as soon as possible to make the Handicap Administrator aware of the situation. As a player it is your responsibility to inform the golf club of the reason for not returning your score. You should also provide the player with proof of your actual score. It is then the responsibility of the golf club to determine whether the non-submission is for a valid reason or not.

 In exceptional circumstances (such as player injury or illness) the club reserve the right to delete the score intent. However, should the reason for not submitting the score be deemed invalid by the golf club, a Penalty Score should applied to the handicap record.

 Similarly, if a player does not inform the club of the reason for not returning a score, the club are entitled to apply a Penalty Score to the handicap record.

The Penalty Score can equate to one of the following:

·       Actual Score from the Round of Golf;

·       High Penalty Score: equivalent to the highest Gross Score listed in your most recent 20 scores.

·       Low Penalty Score: equivalent to the lowest Gross Score listed in your most recent 20 scores.

Where a player repeatedly pre-registers their intent to return a score for handicap purposes and fails to properly sign off the score, the club entitled to withdraw the Handicap Index for a defined period of time or consider alternative disciplinary action.
